Spontaneous with the Spinners “Run for the Roses” in Houston, TX |
|
HOUSTON, TEXAS
A gala celebrating the annual Kentucky Derby “Run for the Roses” held for each of the last 30 years by a private group of racing enthusiasts in the posh south side of Houston, was a rousing success once again.
Headlining the event this year were Atlantic/Motown recording artists, the Spinners (“Rubber Band Man”, “I’ll Be Around”), the R&B hit factory hailing from Detroit, Michigan. This venerable act had the room energized from their first note to the big finale.
Spontaneous Sound & Production Services based in Kempton, Pennsylvania provided audio, lighting, backline, stage management and logistical support to the event for each of the last 2 years.
Last year’s headliner were Capitol/RCA recording artists, Tavares, (“Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel”, “It Only Takes A Minute”), based out of Providence, Rhode Island.
The support act for each of the last two years has been the Liquid Pleasure Super Show, an incredible power-house act based out of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Liquid Pleasure has been a loyal customer of Spontaneous Sound & Production Services for over 20 years.
“It’s a great privilege for me to work with so much talent in one place at one time”, remarked Christopher L. Dietz, president of Spontaneous Sound & Production Services, “and it’s just a lot of fun, too!”
